Every scent isa single hour

Nine fragrances. Each one fixes a moment — the hour the light turns, the hour a room empties — and refuses to be worn as anything else.

Act I

A fragrance house that writes fiction and happens to bottle it

Most perfume begins with a market. Ours begins with a scene — a harbour before dawn, a greenhouse in August, a bar after the music stops — and the formula is only finished when the scene is recognisable.

Act II

Four collections

The Hours came first. Nocturnes went heavier. The Garden Series is the least commercial thing we make, and Editions exist only while a harvest does.

Labdanum · Tonka · Sandalwood

The colour of six o'clock light in late September, rendered as smell. Warmth without sugar was the whole difficulty — every material that reads golden also reads sweet.

Five questions

Tell us what you refuse, and we will tell you what to wear

Begin the journey

“A fragrance that smells expensive is a failure. It should smell like something that happened to you.”

Ilse Marchetti · Head perfumer, Maison OÛR
